Medium sized round fruit with an attractive, predominantly red skin with areas of greenish yellow showing through. An excellent home garden variety that matures late in the season, producing crisp, juicy, sweet fruit. Like most apple varieties 'Sundowner' requires pollination by another variety growing nearby to ensure a good crop. Suitable pollinating varieties include Granny Smith and Red Delicious.
